A 42-year-old man from Maharashtra received a small intestine transplant at Nanavati Max Hospital after the organ was airlifted over 1,400 km from a brain-dead donor in Delhi. Diagnosed with gangrene caused by blood clots, he needed urgent surgery. National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) notified the Mumbai-based team about a matching donor in Delhi.
