IISc research shows a snake's age, not sex or location, controls the venom yield of India's 'Big Four' species. Adults produce significantly more venom than juveniles. The findings provide crucial, pan-Indian data to optimise anti-venom production, enabling better clinical dosing and helping to reduce India's high snakebite mortality.
