Solar eclipse is on April 8, 2024. As per the Hindu mythology, during this time the Rahu swallows the Sun. It is said that during churning of ocean of milk, Rahu disguises himself to drink nectar of immortality. Surya (the Sun) on seeing this, alerts Lord Vishnu who then beheads Rahu. This is why Rahu seeks revenge from the Sun.
