Defence officials confirmed on Saturday that five Indian Army soldiers, including a Major-rank official, were injured in Machil in J&K's Kupwara during an encounter with terrorists. One of the injured soldiers lost his life. Reportedly, forces detected the movement of suspected militants and challenged them following which the terrorists opened fire. Initially, three soldiers were injured.
