UP SP chief Shyam Lal Pal has written to the EC and objected to police officials lifting burqa-clad Muslim voters' veils for identification purposes during Lok Sabha elections. Pal urged EC to issue an order preventing police officials from checking IDs in UP bypolls, stating police scared away SP supporters, especially Muslim women by asking them to lift their veil.
