SpiceJet has introduced WhatsApp boarding passes at Shillong Airport. The airline aims to expand this service to other domestic airports as well. In June 2025, Indian airports printed over 9 million passes. The airlines used their own technology that can be easily accessed on regular computers and tablets. With this system, airports can send boarding passes via WhatsApp or email.
