Five days after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk's arrest during protests demanding statehood for Ladakh, his wife, Gitanjali Angmo, submitted representation to India's President seeking his immediate release. She said Wangchuk has been detained "without cause". She added that "the State and its agencies are hounding us and have kept us under surveillance, which is deplorable".
