BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla called the stampede at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium "state-sponsored criminal negligence and murder". He demanded the resignation of Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Home Minister G Parameshwara. He criticised Congress for continuing IPL win celebrations at stadium despite reports of deaths. At least 10 people have died in the incident.
