A study published in the journal Archaeology International stated that Stonehenge may have served as a monument of unification for the Britishers. People from Scotland and Wales brought local stones as part of their contribution to assembling the structure and establishing "political unification", it added. The landmark, situated around 140 km from London, is said to be 5,000 years old.
