A first-of-its-kind study has mapped the facial traits of Meghalaya’s Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia communities. Published in the Journal of the Anatomical Society of India, it found most participants had long, narrow faces and medium-broad noses, with subtle differences among groups. Researchers say the findings could aid forensics, reconstructive surgery, and mask design.
