Researchers found that taking a nap before a task improves performance, as during sleep, short-term information related to task is converted into long-term, stronger memory, according to a study published in Journal of Neuroscience. The study found that an increased number of brain waves in the brain's cortex was also related to improved performance of the participants following the nap.
