Scientists at Sheffield Hallam University developed a breakthrough technique combining scalp cooling and a topical antioxidant lotion to prevent chemotherapy-induced hair loss, according to a study published in Frontiers in Pharmacology. Cooling the scalp to 18 °C, paired with antioxidants, protects hair follicles from damage, the study found. Clinical trials for the process are underway.
