The district administration of Lahaul and Spiti has officially announced the reopening of the strategically important Sumdo-Kaza-Gramphu highway from the Manali side to civil traffic, permitting the movement of 4x4 vehicles. The stretch had remained closed since November 2024 due to heavy snowfall at the mighty Kunzum Pass (14,931 ft), a critical access point to the Spiti Valley.
