Yale University researchers have created superwood, a material 10 times stronger and six times lighter than steel. It's made by boiling natural wood in a chemical solution to remove lignin, which is then compressed under heat and pressure. This collapses its cells, making it ultra-dense. The week-long process yields a compact, stronger and eco-friendly alternative to metal.
