Supreme Court has suspended life sentence of Father Edwin Pigarez, a priest of the Roman Catholic church, who was convicted for repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl between 2014 and 2015 in Kerala. The Bench of CJI BR Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran ordered that Pigarez be released on bail during the pendency of his appeals against HC's conviction order.
