The Supreme Court in the case of Vijaya Bank vs Prashant Narnaware ruled that the employment bond is valid. It further clarifies that this does not violate section 27 of the contract act. Supreme court directed an employee to pay ₹2,00,000 as damages/penalty to the employer for breach of the employment bond as he resigned before commitment period ended.
