Suriname's newly elected Chairman of National Assembly Michael Ashwin Satyandre Adhin took his oath in Sanskrit, a classical language of India. The Indian Embassy in Suriname shared the video of the oath-taking ceremony and said Adhin became the second leader in country to take the oath in Sanskrit. Indian Ambassador Subhash Gupta attended the ceremony and congratulated the Indian-origin leader.
