The suspects in encounter between police and gangsters on Saturday in Punjab's Tarn Taran are reportedly involved in extortion and drug-related crimes, SP Ajay Raj Singh said. "When attempts were made to stop them, they started firing bullets," he said, adding that police fired in self-defence. Of the three suspects, two were injured, while one was arrested on the spot.
