In a shocking case, five people, including the father of a newborn, were arrested in Tiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, for selling the baby for ₹1.5 lakh. The infant, taken from the mother by force, was rescued and is now in a government home. Police are conducting counselling before deciding on the baby’s custody.
