Tiruchirappalli Corporation has opened Tamil Nadu's first rescue and treatment shelter for stray dogs, with space for up to 25 dogs at a time. Injured, sick, or abandoned dogs rescued from roads are treated and rehabilitated here. This came after Supreme Court revised its earlier order on Friday, which had directed authorities to send all Delhi-NCR stray dogs to shelters.
