At Besant Nagar Beach in Chennai, citizens collected 200 kg of old clothes as part of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board’s Meendum Manjappai initiative. These clothes were recycled and turned into eco-friendly bags to reduce single-use plastic. The Tamil Nadu government is promoting the use of Manjappai bags to cut down plastic waste and protect the environment.
