A 21-year-old in Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram stabbed a Class 12 girl to death in broad daylight after she repeatedly rejected his love proposal. The girl was attacked on her way to school and died on the spot. Police have arrested the accused. The killing sparked strong political criticism, with AIADMK, PMK and BJP blaming DMK government for poor women's safety.
