The US House Foreign Affairs Committee of Democrats said that tariffing India will not stop Russian President Vladimir Putin. "If [US President Donald] Trump wanted to address Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine, maybe punish Putin and give Ukraine the military aid it needs," the panel said. Trump had imposed an additional 25% tariffs on India over Russian oil purchase.
