Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) issued show-cause notice to Assistant Professor Arjun Sengupta for joining a student protest against nearly 120 staff's layoffs. The notice said he violated by-laws by participating in political activity without permission and by criticising TISS. It held him in contempt of court citing proceedings against PhD scholar Ramadas over anti-national activities.
