A 13-year-old schoolgirl in Palghar, Maharashtra, with health issues died after being forced to do 100 sit-ups with her schoolbag as punishment for arriving late. Teacher Mamta Yadav has been arrested for culpable homicide. Investigations revealed the school was illegally running Classes 9 and 10 and lacked proper infrastructure. Civic officials have issued notices as the probe continues.
