Team India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak clarified after The Oval curator Lee Fortis had a heated exchange with head coach Gautam Gambhir. Kotak revealed Fortis yelled at the India support staff when they were getting the cooling box, which irked Gambhir. He added Fortis also asked them to stay 2.5 metres away from the pitch despite them wearing rubber spikes.
