Indirect carbon emissions from the operations of leading AI-focused tech companies rose on average by 150% from 2020 to 2023, a report by the UN's International Telecommunication Union (ITU) said. "Digital companies…are heavily investing in AI saw their operational emissions…rise," report said. Amazon's carbon emissions grew 182%, followed by Microsoft at 155%, Meta at 145% and Alphabet at 138%.
