Telangana expects to procure a record 80 LMT of kharif paddy, surpassing the previous high of 67 LMT, with estimated costs nearing ₹26,000 crore. Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has urged the Centre to raise procurement quotas, allow raw and boiled rice deliveries, extend deadlines, and improve storage and logistics, as FCI godowns are full, risking distress sales by farmers.
