Telangana government issued an order making Telugu a compulsory subject in all Telangana schools across all boards including CBSE and ICSE. The new order will be applicable from academic year 2025-26 for class 9. Class 10 will apply from the 2026-27 academic year. However, CSBE class 9 and 10 students will be allowed to learn "simple Telugu", the order said.
