Tesla has signed a $4.3 bn deal with LG Energy Solution to source LFP batteries for its energy storage unit, Reuters reported. The three-year deal, with a seven-year extension option, comes as battery makers face US manufacturing pressures. Batteries will come from LG's Michigan plant. Tesla aims to expand grid-scale storage, including in China.
