Congress MP Shashi Tharoor congratulated filmmaker Mira Nair for her son Zohran Mamdani's win in New York mayoral polls. "Warmest congratulations to my old friend Mira Nair on her son's spectacular victory," he said. Tharoor and Nair studied at Delhi University and did a theatre play in 1974. Tharoor also praised Mamdani for quoting Jawaharlal Nehru's 'Tryst with Destiny' speech.
