On August 6, 1945, the US dropped atomic bomb 'Little Boy' on Hiroshima, killing over 120,000 people. The explosion destroyed five square miles and caused severe radiation sickness. Three days later, a second bomb, 'Fat Man', hit Nagasaki, killing 73,000. The devastation led to Japan’s surrender on August 15, ending World War II and sparking global debate on nuclear weapons.
