After prolonged discussions with Bangladesh, a much-anticipated consignment of Padma Hilsa has finally reached West Bengal, bringing great delight to Bengali food lovers just in time for the Durga Puja celebrations. A total of 37 tons of Hilsa arrived from Bangladesh. The first batch, consisting of 12 tons, entered India in three trucks on Wednesday night.
