Congress leader Rahul Gandhi condemned the Supreme Court's directions to remove all dogs from the streets of Delhi-NCR, saying, "These voiceless souls are not 'problems' to be erased." He described the order for blanket removal of dogs as "cruel and shortsighted". Public safety and animal welfare should go hand in hand via shelters, sterilisation, vaccination, and community care, he said.
