Thousands took to the streets in Maldives' capital Male on Friday to protest against Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu's government over corruption and rising prices. The protests were led by the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). Police used pepper spray and acoustic devices, arresting eight protesters amid clashes. The MDP condemned the arrests as violations of constitutional rights.
