Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale publicly apologised to former diplomat Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri for defamatory tweets posted in June 2021. Lakshmi is the wife of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Gokhale, in his tweets, had questioned how Puri could afford a house worth 1.6 million Swiss francs in Switzerland in 2006 on her income as an ex-Indian Foreign Service officer.
