After two rabies deaths in Kerala despite vaccination, Tamil Nadu's health department issued an advisory urging proper dog bite classification and timely post-exposure prophylaxis(PEP). It stressed correct use of rabies immunoglobulin(RIG), anti-rabies vaccine (ARV), prompt wound cleaning, and strict adherence to vaccine protocols.
