Torrent Power will set up a 1,600 MW coal-based Ultra-Supercritical project in Madhya Pradesh with a ₹22,000 crore outlay. The firm won a 25-year PPA at ₹5.829/kWh with MPPMCL. Commissioning is targeted in 72 months, creating 8,000–10,000 jobs during construction and 1,500 in operations. Capacity expansion takes Torrent’s locked-in portfolio to 9.6 GWp.
