Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome was airlifted to hospital for surgery following a serious training crash. He suffered broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a back fracture but did not sustain any head injuries and was in a stable condition. Froome had stated earlier that 2025 could be his final year of competitive racing.
