Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu remarked that Maldives will record a boom in tourism following PM Narendra Modi's visit to the country. The influx of Indian tourists in Maldives had dropped by about 50% in 2024 following the diplomatic row between the countries last year. PM Modi was the guest of honour at Maldives' Independence Day celebrations this year.
