Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told Lok Sabha that train accidents had dropped by 77% over past 10 years- from 135 in 2014-15 to 31 in 2024-25. "There is constant effort to use new technologies to ensure safety of trains," he said. He added that Kavach 4.0, technology-intensive automatic train protection system, will soon be fully launched on the Kota-Mathura line.
