Enrolment of transgender students in Indian educational institutions has significantly increased over the past three years. School enrolment rose from 155 in 2021–22 to 965 in 2023–24. Uttar Pradesh (327) and Bihar (282) reported the highest figures. The data, tabled in the Rajya Sabha, reflects growing inclusivity in education across several states.
