A violent clash erupted at Jaunpur's district hospital when 20-25 transgender protesters stormed the emergency ward, allegedly assaulting Dr Pawan Singh and staff who intervened. Four were seriously injured in the 45-minute rampage. The transgenders alleged denial of treatment to an injured community member, caused chaos by disrobing and climbing surgical tables.
