V Saritha, a 38-year-old tribal woman from Telangana, has become the first woman driver of the state's Road Transport Corporation (RTC). Saritha had to leave school and take up a job at the age of 18 to make ends meet for her family. "I did not become a driver out of passion…[but] to provide for my family,” she said.
