In a significant blow to Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of next year’s state assembly elections, Bharatpur MLA Humayun Kabir has declared his intention to form a new political party, set to launch on January 1, 2026. The firebrand MLA has a history of publicly voicing dissent and has been show-caused by the TMC on multiple occasions for making anti-party remarks.
