Tripura will install a new Doppler radar at Belonia, South Tripura, to boost disaster preparedness and weather forecasting. Currently, only Agartala has one. The radar, sanctioned by the Centre, will enhance early warnings, especially for flood-prone areas. The district aims to have it operational by February, before the next monsoon, to better predict heavy rains and reduce damage.
