Ujjal Dosanjh, a former cabinet minister in the Canadian government, said Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is "sociologically and politically" an "idiot". Ujjal, a Sikh himself, in a column for a Canadian newspaper National Post, wrote that Trudeau "never really understood the vast majority of Sikhs do not want to have anything to do with Khalistan".
