US President Donald Trump has authorised the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles amid violent clashes and protests against immigration enforcement raids. The White House said that Trump's move is to "address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester" in California. The protests began when officials arrested several people, flagged as illegal immigrants, in Los Angeles.
