US President Donald Trump has hinted at distributing cheques worth $1,000–$2,000 (approximately ₹88,000-₹1,77,000) as rebate from revenue earned from tariffs. “We are becoming a country that is so rich, so powerful, it gives us power...And we can take care of people," Trump said. Revenues from new tariffs could eventually reach $1 trillion a year, he added.
