A peace vigil tent which had been outside White House for over four decades was removed after US President Donald Trump ordered to take it down. A volunteer who manned the vigil for years said officials justified the removal by mislabelling memorial as a homeless shelter. The vigil was started in 1981 by activist William Thomas to promote nuclear disarmament.
